Hello!

I started my healing method based on contemplative wisdom and the latest research, with one goal in mind: to help people find meaning and purpose as they move through grief, loss and adversities, to heal and reconnect with life. My background in eastern and western psychology, mindfulness, compassion, grief education, and human development, combine with forty years of personal mindfulness practice, and interest in spirituality to help others focus, reflect, and refine their lives.

My intention all along has been to create a healing space and opportunities, wherever you are, exactly how your life is at this time. I am a widow, emigrant, raising a multi racial family, live with a manageable chronic illness while caregiving for a love one. I am engaged in communities where many are living with adversities yet are not able to show up in public places or discussions; they are often not heard or seen.

My intention, goal and belief are that we can find a healing path for you, no matter the nature of your life conditions. This is not to say that social systems should not be held responsible for supporting us, but with more awaremess, we can have an impact in how we respond to what arises in our own lives.

My approach is rooted in presence, mindfulness and compassion, staying curious, making connections across disciplines of knowledge, meeting you where you are, to offer you a personalized supportive toolbox if you will, to not only navigate and manage life’s adversities, but find the path to resilience, growth and transformation.

Yasemin Isler

I teach full time in an academic graduate program (Master’s Degree and certificate) in Mindfulness Studies, teach through the lens of specific professions and teach general public on a depth of related topics, and train mindfulness teachers. I am a certified mindfulness teacher, certified integrative thanatologist and end-of-life doula professional. I have a private practice working with individuals on their grief journeys due to bereavement, illness, approaching end-of-life, or caregiving, as well as life transitions and general needs through the lens of Buddhist psychology and mindfulness. I’ve lived in three continents, belong to and raise a multi ethnic, diverse family. My research and work interests include all that is related to resilience, growth, grief and healing, and cultural and context sensitive learning and development. I look forward to working together with you

I created an online and virtual grief support center and my framework of Mindfulness, Compassion and Community for Griefand Loss (MCCG) in 2014. Prior to more of us getting accustomed to, sometimes reluctantly, to online and virtual spaces. Prior to grief, death and loss becoming consistent household names during the pandemic. Prior to the power of community and mindfulness becoming more and more recognized. Prior to trauma sensitive grief care becoming known.

I refined the framework in 2018 for my Master’s thesis in Mindfulness Studies, which solely focused on supporting grief, bringing kind awareness to nature of life in impermanence, including the reality of illness, aging and death.

I personally experienced the inequity of attending retreats in retreat centers, due to economic, health or other adversities.

The reality is not everyone can afford to travel to a retreat center, stay away from their loved ones or even leave their homes due to their own health conditions. The reality is also that many retreat centers spend a lot of valuable time and resources to stay afloat and keep the place running.

I’ve led many retreats, group and individual sessions, support groups and grief circles online and received feedback from participants that this is very doable. In fact, it is often very much appreciated to practice in the midst of life, and have access to all of this from wherever they are able to participate. .

I’d love to help you navigate your life’s challenges, hopes, griefs and losses, and find your new path. See how you can work with me to discover how to live through the thick and thin of grief, love, and life.
